Game’s Most Popular Family Event Sets Registration Open Date

Myrtle Beach, S.C. – The 2020 Father-Son Team Classic will open registration on Monday, November 11, and the tournament will feature a new host golf resort to include the entire family in one of the game’s most popular events. Barefoot Resort, 2017 IAGTO North American Resort of the Year, is now the host venue for all functions and registration surrounding the tournament week.

The Father-Son Team Classic is the largest tournament of its kind in the world, annually attracting 700+ players from 40 states and three countries to Myrtle Beach for an event that celebrates the family bonds golf helps breed.

This year’s event will again feature hundreds of male duo’s in the Father & Son Team Classic alongside the growing Parent & Child Team Classic consisting of any team with a female team member. New to the tournament this year is the more prominent presence of the PGA TOUR Superstore, newly named as Title Sponsor of Family Golf Week. As part of early registration, any team registering before January 1st will receive an additional $50 PGA TOUR Superstore gift card per player ($100 / team).

Early registrants will also be granted three (3) entries into a drawing to win one of two (2) chances at a FREE entry to the 2021 Family Golf Week. Standard registrants after December 31st will receive one (1) entry to the drawing.

The 2020 Family Golf Week will be held July 15-18, and players can register for the tournament at www.FamilyGolfWeek.com starting Monday, November 11th.

Early entry fee for both events is $995 per team and includes three rounds of golf, daily lunch, pre- and post-event functions, and a gift bag valued at $300 per player. Included among the gift bag items is a $150 tournament gift card for each player that can be used at host courses for food, merchandise and pre-tournament practice rounds. Players will also receive a logo’d polo shirt, a dozen Srixon golf balls and more.

The 54-hole tournaments, will be played on eight of Myrtle Beach’s best courses, including the Love Course at Barefoot Resort, which has been ranked among America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses. Joining the top 100 layouts as host courses are Arcadian Shores, Glen Dornoch, Thistle Club, Pine Lakes, Shaftesbury Glen, Legends Resort and Wachesaw Plantation East, a four-time host of a LPGA event.

All events will require participants to have a USGA approved handicap and will feature a different format of play each day, including a two-person captain’s choice, better ball and shamble.
