The 2015 Family Golf Week officials announced today that after four years as the event’s benefitting charity, Folds of Honor Foundation received more than $40,000 in funds that directly support local military families through scholarships to their children. Through the contributions of Family Golf Week and Foursome Promotions, eight families who reside in Horry, Georgetown, and Brunswick counties have received educational scholarships.
In 2012, because of the increase in the number of military families participating in the annual event, the Family Golf Week tournament committee elected to honor the brave personnel of the U.S. armed forces by partnering with the Folds of Honor Foundation. With this partnership, the Folds of Honor Foundation was able to further their dedication to supporting military families by providing learning opportunities to children and spouses of wounded and fallen heroes who have sacrificed so much by defending the freedom of this nation.
“Our relationship with the Folds of Honor Foundation has been a blessing,” Brad “Greenie” Greenstein said. “The core of our events is centered around family and that is directly in line with the offerings of Folds of Honor Foundation. Plus, helping those who help us (in this case, wounded or fallen heroes) is, quite simply, an honor.”
